Victor Osimhen, African Player of the Year, and two other Super Eagles players, Moses Simon and William Troost-Ekong, have passed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) random anti-doping tests and are free to face Angola in the quarter-finals on Friday.

WITHIN NIGERIA remembers that CAF selected Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles winger and defender Moses Simon, and William Troost-Ekong for random drug testing following their last group match and 2-0 Round of 16 triumph against Cameroon.

Victor Osimhen played a crucial role for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations group stage and the Round of 16 meeting against Cameroon.

According to reports, the Nigerian international underwent the test after his encounter against Guinea-Bissau.

The random tests are normal procedures, usually performed on players whose increased energy levels raise concerns of substance abuse.

Furthermore, sources stated that two Cameroonian athletes underwent comparable exams, indicating that Osimhen is not the only participant participating in the competition.

Meanwhile, Coach Peseiro's team will meet Angola in the quarterfinals of the 2023 AFCON on Friday.
