#ENDSARS; MACARONI AND OTHERS AT THE LEKKI TOLLGATE

MR MACARONI AND OTHERS HOLD A WALK TO COMMEMORATE THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE LEKKI TOLLGATE SHOOTINGS.

Mr Macaroni, a Nigerian skitmaker, and other Nigerians gathered at Lekki Tollgate in Lagos on Friday to celebrate the third anniversary of the shootings that occurred during the #EndSARS protest on October 20, 2020.

Meanwhile, there was a large police presence at the Lekki tollgate.

Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, and other top police personnel were also there.

According to reports, the Lagos State Police Command has warned that any type of gathering at the tollgate in the state's Lekki region will not be tolerated.

Remember the #EndSARS protests? They were a public outcry calling for an end to police brutality, extrajudicial killings, extortion, and power abuse, particularly by personnel of the now-defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The nonviolent demonstration resulted in the disbandment of SARS by the Nigerian federal government.

However, the demonstration turned violent as hoodlums took advantage of the situation, burning down police stations and public facilities and attacking cops and residents.
