Lekan Sunday, a 40-year-old mason, has been detained for allegedly raping a prophetess at an Ogun State church.

Premarv Media has learned that while he reportedly committed the act on Thursday, men from the state command were able to apprehend him on Monday.
According to our source, the suspect attacked the church, Orioke Aanu Oluwa Gbohunmi, in the Ilogbo Adu region of Kemta, Abeokuta, with weapons and discovered the victim asleep.

He was claimed to have held the prophetess captive, waving a knife in her face and threatening to kill her if she continued to annoy him.

The prophetess's request for assistance from those in the vicinity was not answered.

When her pleas for help from those around the premises went unanswered, the prophetess was alleged to have begun pleading with the suspect to pity her.

Despite Sunday's protestations, the defendant was claimed to have insisted on having sex with the prophetess.

The victim was supposed to have reached a neighboring police station after finally pushing her into submission and reportedly raping the prophetess.

Following receipt of the allegation, the police initiated a manhunt for the fugitive suspect.

On Monday, he was arrested.
According to the correspondent, the prophetess recognized the culprit as a local mason and laborer.

"The incident occurred on Thursday.

We apprehended the suspect on Monday.

"The preliminary investigation into the matter is still ongoing," Odutola said over WhatsApp.
