"Alaba International Market, Ojo has been sealed up for poor waste disposal practices, failure to pay their waste bills, and gross environmental sanitation offences."

The closure follows similar ones in other Lagos markets.

The Lagos State Government has closed the Alaba International Market due to, among other things, improper garbage disposal methods.

According to Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, who tweeted this early Monday.

Alaba International Market in Ojo has been closed due to improper waste disposal procedures, nonpayment of trash bills, and egregious environmental sanitation violations.
