The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency's (NDLEA) spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, has denied that the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as Mohbad, was arrested or detained at any of the agency's facilities.
According to PREMARV MEDIA, there were allegations against the agency that Mohbad was poisoned while in detention following his arrest.
This speculation arose after a viral video of him screaming in pain on a hospital bed while narrating his suffering in the custody of the NDLEA was circulated online.

The musician said in the video that he was force-fed a deadly drug, abused with the butt of a revolver, and then told to go home.
Remember that in February 2022, the anti-drug agency raided a property in Idado estate, leading to the arrest of six people, including Zinolesky and Mohbad, who were signed to the Marlian record label.
However, in a Saturday post on his X handle, Babafemi stated that Mohbad was never arrested or held by the agency.
He also posted a news link in which a source in the agency listed the names of those arrested, but Mohbad's name was not among them.

According to a source within the agency, the names of the six suspects apprehended at the time were as follows:
Zinoleesky (Oniyide Azeez)
Michael Owoeye (m)
Ogbe, Abimbola (m)
Dominica Chinwe (female)
Shubomi Mariam Olaolohun (f)
Alawo, Ibrahim (m)
"This is an authentic account of the arrest and detention of some Malian artistes in February 2022, an incident that has now been twisted by purveyors of fake news to say Mohbad was poisoned in the custody of @ndlea_nigeria even though he was never arrested or detained by the agency," Babafemi wrote.
"I hope they'll be bold enough to defend their claims when the hand of the law catches them."
