The federal government has declared that it will provide N5 billion to each state of the federation as a palliative to offset the impact of the withdrawal of gasoline subsidy payments. 

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum made the news during an interactive session with State House media in Abuja on Thursday. 

After the statutory meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) chaired by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Zulum also announced that the federal capital territory (FCT), Abuja, will receive N5 billion as a palliative.
